Timekeeper Custom Fields type

Are you able to change a custom field type from text to list in Sage Timeslips 2019?  When we set up the system we did not feel there was a need for a list option on a particular custom field but now we are having a few options come up so we would like to change it to a drop down field instead to prevent any typos, etc. since the particular field is used for selecting some report data.

Thank you in advance for any information assistance.

You can change the type, but it will not retain the text that you previously entered.  You will need to create the list and then recode the clients with the new value.

You might want to experiment with exporting the data to a CSV file and then changing the field and trying to reimport the values back in.

MAKE A BACKUP FIRST if you decide to try this.  Honestly, I really recommend that you just hire a consultant to do that with you as the learning curve on that will be sort of steep for this one off exercise.
