It is unusual to have an error during conversion, but not completely unheard of. I have no idea why it is kicking that error or how to fix it.

Interesting that you are just now installing v2018 as Sage stopped selling it almost 9 months ago. Stuff happens, not judging.  Just wondering about (as Paul Harvey would say) "the rest of the story."

You will be converting the database from a v2014 BDE database to a v2018 Firebird database.

During the conversion it will step your data through each version since v2014.  So, 2015, 2016, 2017 then 2018.

As a general rule, I like to run all my client conversions inhouse for exactly this reason.  I.e. it lets me chase any problem without disturbing what they may have in place at the office before any rollout.

I like to run some diagnostics on the old version, and a few reports, then step it up only a few versions at a time, checking my reports along the way.

You should be able to tell from the log file which version it is try to move from when it hits the error.

How does one obtain other copies of TImeslips to install and run 1 at a time conversions.

Well, the short answer is that you don't.  1) they are no longer available for sale, and 2) even if they were it would still be more cost effective to just pay someone who already has them to convert it for you.

Does your customer have a tech support agreement with Sage? If so, I'd contact them first since they are already paying for that.

If not, you would be looking at either getting a tech support agreement with Sage, or hiring one of the Certified Consultants that frequent this board (yes, that includes myself.)

Thank you. I believe I found the issues. The slip templates have Special characters in their name. It seems like 2017+ no longer allow special characters.

So I have to go through and delete or update the slips templates before converting.

Excellent. That sounds highly likely to be the issue.

Does your customer use the slip templates?  Most of our users do not, so am intrigued.
