[Solved] The following timekeepers are not mapped to valid Timeslips timekeepers, their time entries cannot be posted.

Hello Forum,

I ran into this error when assisting a client, and couldn't find much for support.  Both Timeslips and Amicus no longer offer any kind of support for these legacy apps.  After much searching, I finally discovered the solution.

Below is the error and solution:

Amicus Attorney Error:

Data exchange is complete. However, some records were not properly updated. Please contact Gavel & Gown Technical Support.

New Timeslips activities have been added to your Activity Codes list (in the Time Entry Details window). The list may extend beyond the bottom of your screen. To be able to see and choose the new items in the list, please move some of your activity codes into groups.

Update complete.

Posting Error(s):
The following timekeepers are not mapped to valid Timeslips timekeepers, their time entries cannot be posted. Please review their team member settings: Legal Assistant
0 time entries posted.

Solution:
Amicus > Configure > Time Sheets > Accounting System
Select the user > Edit (Ensure the user is highlighted)
Ok

What I have discovered is that both the user account and nickname needs to be selected to allow for the user to have permissions to submit to timeslips.
Hope this helps

Applications:
Amicus Administrator Small Firm Edition Build Number 10.0.0.1002

Timeslips v2010

  • Yes, this is correct and should have been clear in the Amicus documentation about the link found in the Administrator's Help section.  Just because the two programs may have the same people entered (Amicus Team Member and Timeslips Timekeeper) does not mean that the programs will "know" how to hand off the information.  All Timekeepers and Activity codes must be mapped between the two systems.

Looks like from your error message that the Amicus User named Legal Assistant  was not mapped to a Timeslips timekeeper and hence the message.

But good work on the sleuthing, and yes that is the correct place to do the mapping!

I was an Amicus Attorney Certified Consultant for many years (til they sold out to Abacus) and have done many links between Amicus and Timeslips.

    Hi Nancy,

Thank you very much for the reply and explanation.

This was my first time seeing either of these applications and found the documentation good, but overwhelming.
I will be learning more about this over time and probably adding more of these to this forum.

    Have a great day!

    Cheers!
