Error Code 303
What is this error and how to correct or fix?
Can you give us the specific wording of the error? It falls beneath the line that says "The Firebird database engine has encountered an error..." It should give a literal, albeit technical, answer to your question.
We can clarify the situation based on that, and the specific version/build of Timeslips you are using could be of benefit as well.
The same error message has reappeared. It states
Dynamic SQL Error
SQL error code = -303
arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation
string right truncation
error class: EIBNativeException
Error Code 335544569
What function is being performed when tis occurs? What version/build of Timeslips is this?
"String truncation right" means that a data field is longer than expected/allowed and is being truncated to fit the requirement of the data field(s).
Version: 2018 Build: 26.0.3.273
I get the message when I start the program. It appears
The error message appears after I do the database login and it checks the databases.
If they are running an Enhanced Navigator, they could be involuntarily asking for reports from lots of different tables. I would try changing the preference if you can to NOT use an Enhanced Navigator to see if it will just let you in. Then you can try to do various things that might give us a clue about where it is cranky.

Did not work. I tried using different versions of the navigator and get the same error. I thought it might be related to using a long "reference to" in the client info, but, that did not solve the issues either.
Just to verify, Wayne. You changed the Navigator to Classic Mode, correct?
I tried every version of the classic mode - saved and exited and logged back in. Same error message just after the program reads the databases.
waynet11, how about one more time with no navigator whatsoever? I suspect it will still error, but easy enough to rule out.

No luck. Tried no navigator and also turned off some other items and still get the same error.
