Starting new with Timeslips can be a bit daunting.  Unfortunately, there is no ONE way to use Timeslips and that can make it difficult to document for an individual user.  

I often say, "The best thing about Timeslips is that it is really flexible, and the worst thing about Timeslips is that it is REALLY flexible." :-)

Understanding how to control and manipulate that flexibility in the beginning can be a bit challenging.
