The most common reason for only one user at a time to be able to use Timeslips is that the program was not installed using the same path on each workstation. If you open Timeslips on each computer and go to help - about Timeslips, you will see an installation folder. Except for the drive letter (if using mapped drives) this path must be identical on all workstations. You can change it by closing Timeslips on the computer and going to start - all programs - Timeslips - station administrator - options - change install path. Then browse to the timeslip.cfg file using the correct path.

Attachments do not come through the forum so we don't know what error your user is receiving but make sure you clear all temp files from the workstation, especially fulses*, pdoxusrs.* and paradox.lck files.

    Hello,

Thank you for your try. I have try to above steps. However, it still shows the same error. So, I try to rename the database and also re-install the application. It is now showing "Another program is accessing your Sage Timeslips database in a way that prevents you from accessing it." error message. I try to rename back the database. Can you please help me to deploy Timeslips from scratch ?

    Thank you,

    Chetan

Chetan, I happen to know that Caren is at a conference today and tomorrow, so will step into this thread to try and help.

The short answer is yes, I'd be happy to help you get it installed right.  The long answer is that this is how I earn my living, so I can't do it on a pro bono basis.

If you have just purchased the 2014 and still have your one incident within 30 days of purchase, you can try and call Sage Technical Support and get them to help you.  If you bought a Technical Support Plan from them, that would also entitle you to be able to call Sage Timeslips Technical Support.

If you have neither of those, then you will need to contract either with Sage directly or with one of the Certified Consultants.  Many of us contribute to this bulletin board as a means of letting folks like you know that we exist and can help.

If you would like assistance with it, just contact me at any of the means below.

    Hope this helps.

As Nancy said I think you are at a point where you need to work with a consultant or support. I will be in my office next week or Nancy can help you.

    Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of the Support Services. However, I just want to know the exact steps to install Timeslips correctly. I think I made an mistake while installing it. Can you please provide me the installation steps or Guide?

Any help would be more appreciated.

    Regards,

    Chetan

If you run the Timeslips installer you will be greeted by a splash screen. Rather than clicking on "Install Timeslips" click on "View Documentation" and this should give you all you need.

    Hello Claire

Can you please tell me know can I import the old database to new one ?

  • 0 in reply to Chetan

If you point your new Timeslips installation at the old Timeslips database it will upgrade it. Make sure you take a backup before carrying out the upgrade (Timeslips will ask you to do this before it converts the database)

I have restored the database however, it gives error message with index page.

It sounds like you will have to employ the services of a Timeslips consultant to repair your database.
