Question before upgrading to 2010

Actually, this might be a multi-part question!

Let me start by telling you I am new to this company, as well as to Timeslips and am very grateful to have found this forum!

I am using Version 2007, Build:15.0.0.30. My system is running XP, sp3 with 1gb RAM.

I am in the process of getting ready to upgrade to 2010 at the beginning of the year, however I am running into an error in 2007 and want to make sure that I don't drag this "issue" (whatever it may be) into 2010. (make sense?)

Here is my issue in 2007:

When I click on Accounts Receivable-Show Payments and Receivables, I get the following message:  "Unknown table ID. This database does not support the requested table."  When I click the "details" here is the message I get:  "Unknown table ID. This database does not support the requested table.

Area: A/R Trans
Code: 1
Address: Exception tARTransTblExceptionC in module Timeslip.exe at 000A8D34.

Version: 15.0.0.30
Table: Accounts Receivable
Record: 20745
BDE Code: 0

Now I know the data is there, as I can see it elsewhere and the numbers match up, and I have run a Data Verification and got "NO ERRORS FOUND" for my results.  Is this database truly damaged? Will this follow forward into 2010 when I convert it?

Another interesting peice of information:  I somehow managed to get the A/R list to appear under "ID" sort, but as soon as I switched it to "Client" sort I received the same data and the table as closed again. Unfortunately I can't retrace my steps to get back to that ID sort.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any information would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Jenn

  • Is this a single station install or multiple stations? If multiple, is the same error occurring on all computers.

If is is only one computer, I would first try something really simple - go to setup - preferences - interface - restore all windows to default size and position. It will ask if oyu are sure. Say yes and then test the AR when finished.

You might also try installing the service releases for Timeslips v2007, there were 2. They are available at http://www.timeslips.com. Click on support - product updates.

  • I am a one-machine operation, installed only on one machine (I knew I left some important information out!).

YOU are a genious! Thank you so much. Your suggestion for returning to default size and position worked. I feel so relieved and am more optimistic about upgrading to v2010.

  • Glad I could be of help and thanks for the kudos.

    Happy holidays.

  • Sounds like you might need some data repair. You could try making a backup and run data verification - rebuild indexes to see if that helps.
