Hello Anahit, Thank you for contacting us. Have you already contacted your instructor for assistance with the Sage 50—U.S. Student Edition? Is this a newer Windows 10 machine with all recent updates and do you have any firewalls? See KBs like Error: "Sage 50 cannot be started..." and I just updated AVG and KB29087-Error: "Sage 50 cannot be started..."
For steps involving environmental or program activation issues, see KB10501- Error: "There was a problem activating. Please try again later." or "There was a problem with the activation files for Sage 50." Students may receive support for installation issues only at 1-866-747-3888. Complimentary technical support is not included with the Sage 50 student version.Hope this helps.Warm Regards,Erzsi
I'm having the same issue. My teacher gave me a serial number and activation code. When I click activate online it says there was an issue and call technical support, which customer service there is doesn't exist. I click manually and it's asking for an email to browse that I've never received, and I click start from beginning and I see no where to put in an activation code, and not sure if it'll delete all my progress. Also, can you clarify what you mean by there is no complimentary technical support?
Hello Avaughn2990students may receive support for installation issues only. Other questions require a paid support plan for the full product. I have a note about the below and the link appears to work.
Students now have access to our chat feature for Sage 50. This will allow students to ask questions and get answers instantly during business hours.
The new chat option is available now by clicking the link below. You will also find this on our website.
Chat option now available for students
Don't you think it's a little ridiculous that I have to pay for a book for the software, I can't rent a book because the software is a one time use thing for students with an activation code. Now you're saying that we have to pay for support for the software that Sage makes us pay for in the first place that is crappy? Unless you are talking about homework help I get that, but my sage software is constantly failing and closing, so would I have to pay for that support since it's not really an installation issue? Also, I've used that chat option and I keep getting that answer that they are limited in student support, unless it was the wrong chat room which don't you think that they would then refer me to that chat room? I was in the chat room three times, I've called numerous times, and have only been actually helped once, thank god I finally got someone who knew what to do. A few times I called I was told my an automated machine that they were experiencing high traffic calls, wonder why, and to call back some other time. Wasn't given any other options or advice. I give you this, the link you provided did help and I finally got it fixed, but all of this is ridiculous. This is the third software program I had to use as a student and only one of those was actually easy and no issues. I pray that I will never have to use ya'lls software in a business setting. I'm sorry, I know this is not your fault, but hopefully someone who can fix all of these issues will see this. This is ridiculous.
Hello Avaughn2990, I've forwarded this to the education representative to see if there's anything we're missing. Each book comes with it's own student files. You can acquire a serial code and activation code without any books by going to https://www.sage.com/en-us/about-us/education-instructor/ and clicking on : There you just need to submit your contact info and course details. This will get you an email with a serial and activation code that is independent of any books. You need a book to have data files to use, so I think you can rent one.In the case of support, should chat and KBs like Error: "Sage 50 cannot be started..." and I just updated AVG and KB29087-Error: "Sage 50 cannot be started..." and KB10501- Error: "There was a problem activating. Please try again later." or "There was a problem with the activation files for Sage 50." fail to help resolve the issue, extra support can be requested. I recommend getting your teacher to email firstname.lastname@example.org with the issue details and steps taken so far + info on system OS and available memory and details of any firewalls installed(copying you and your contact information on the email). We are here to help. We want the software to be useable of course.
