Hi Everyone!

I'm an instructor using the excellent Purbhoo textbook (Using Sage 50 2017). I have used this text for many years and personally have a lot of experience using Sage (Simply and Bedford - remember that?). In the past year, I've had an issue with the VRSP calculation in Ch 9 of the textbook. Every once in a while, my students' journal entries don't match the solution. When this happens, I know this is usually a settings issue but I and my students (some of them very good and who don't usually miss a setting) could not find anything different in their files from other students' files with the correct answer. In the journal entry Bank, Income Tax Payable, and VRSP Payable are off by just a little bit. We have checked everything we can think of.

I'm just wondering if anyone has encountered the same issue.

We have checked:

VRSP by amount setting - set to percent

Payroll incomes screens checkmarks - also the income types

VRSP deductions - before tax checkmark, etc.

I know we have to be missing something but I can't find it!

Anyone have any ideas about this?

I'm teaching this lesson again soon and would be very grateful for an answer.
