If Sage 50 is not opening, then you may have to get Windows to trust Sage 50. See steps 1 to 4 on the blog Slow Performance or Crashing of Sage 50

The blog seems to be instructions for Windows10, I have Windows 7.

The only difference would be Step 2, instead of Windows Defender Firewall Exclusions you'd have Windows Security Essentials, looks like Microsoft has this article with instructions:

Check to see if you're missing SP1 for Windows 7, that could be an issue.

I seem to have SP1 on my laptop.
