Does anyone have a blurb or training guide on RCCP and it's relationship to WO scheduling in X3 ?

This is my understanding of how RCCP works in EM (or X3).

    1. On the work center record, you can define which work centers to be critical work centers by checking the RCCP checkbox. (some version labeled it as "Rough Cut".

2.After you define your routings, under "Manufacturing -> Technical Data -> Serial Modifications -> Copy Routings", you can copy your routings with "Generate Macro Routes" checked. By doing so, the system will only copy the operations where the work center has the RCCP checkbox checked. These are Macro routings that only show works done at critical work centers.

    3. You can run your MPS using the Macro Routings with load calculation turned on.

    4. Once that's done, you can review your load at each RCCP work centers and resolve any over/under load situations.

And then after viewing the load, you can run the scheduling function then then view the scheduled WOs in the detail scheduling module ?

Using that to level out the load either manually or using the optimization calculation ?

Sage Production Scheduler make no difference between a load suggestion from a MPS based on macro-routing and load suggestion from MRP based on actual routing. So you can do both.

It's really just based on the selection you make when opening the scheduler module, right ?

If I set my MPS requirements to look at bom code 2, which is where I have created all my macro routings of RCCP work centers, I can then view the loads for those "bottle neck" operations first.  Level that out as best I can....

then I update the WOs, then I can go into the scheduling tool using the MRP as a filter and look at the actual route?

and that would mean that I MRP set up to be "MRP and MPS" with "exclusive selection" clicked.  right ?

In my understanding, if you managed a planning product (with a planning BoM) you don't want to actaully raise the work order on these products (WOS -> WOF), but you want to consider the pegging on your MRP. To reach this result you should unchecked both "MRP and MPS selection" and "exclusive selection".

However if you use the actual product code with a planning BoM & if you raise the work order before running the MRP, you don't need to unchecked the exclusive slection. On the contrary ensure the exclusive selection is checked to avoid doubling your requirements.
