Warehouse Management in Sage X3

1 minute read time.

Have you ever wanted to create a location that contained several  different location types? Or maybe you want a location that is used primarily for issuing components for production. You should take a  look at Warehouse Management.

By activating warehouse management, you can create one warehouse and link several locations or location types to that warehouse. Your new WRH1 warehouse can contain a stock location, a receiving location and a picking location.

You can control the movement of products by defining the receipt and issue flows to specific warehouses. By assigning your WRH1 warehouse to the Material Consumption flow, you can ensure that warehouse WRH1 auto-populates production tracking at the warehouse field. For even tighter control, you can setup the transaction for Single Warehouse. This makes the warehouse entry mandatory.

You can link a warehouse to specific products in the Product-warehouse function. Then only products associated with that warehouse will be available for selection during transactions. And, if you setup a Product-warehouse link, you can then define how the products in the warehouse are counted during a physical count.

You also have the ability to assign a default warehouse to users.

If you've ever wished you had more control over the flow of your inventory or a more efficient location design, take a look at Warehouse Management.
