Okay. After a long journey, I discovered the reason why my formatted templates were not saving. ( No problems in Pervasive) Maybe my experience helps others avoid the same issue. I use an alpha/numeric structure to organize the templates. It looked like this: 

1: Name 

1a: Name

2: etc.

The colon was the problem. I stripped those out and everything saves correctly (except zoom). I don't know what other character restrictions these text boxes have, but if someone has similar problems, remove special characters. Unfortunately, the KB does not list restrictions.
