Job cost item number

When looking into item details I don't see job cost affiliated to the item?

I imagine when you say "affiliated" you mean that you don't see where to assign the cost code? To assign a cost code in the detail window: Click on the Unit Costs tab, then on the right hand side of that window, about 1/2 way down, you should see a "Job Cost Phase" button and it's associated field.

If there's no Job Cost Phase button, then you'll need to use Estimating Tools (in Pervasive: PSQL) to set up the Database to interface with job cost software. If you're on MSQL instead, then you'll open the Estimating Console and  edit the Estimate (and also the database) to set up Job Cost Information.

Thanks for the info. I have had interface issues when trying to import to JC and it appears that I have lost the interface again.

Are you using MSQL or PSQL? If MSQL, then each old estimate that was migrated from PSQL will need to be setup (again) for Job Cost Interface. A common workflow that messes users up is if you make a copy of an old estimate to make a new estimate, then if that old estimate wasn't fixed for JC interface in Console, the copy won't have JC interface either (fix in Console).

Additionally, by setting the JC interface on the "database" settings, then you'll know that all NEW estimates made from that db will inherit the JC interface. (again, copies of OLD estimates will inherit the estimates JC info).

The JC Interface has always been a wrestling match to get it setup right. But once you do, it'll save tons of time/errors.

    Good Luck!
