We have used Timberscan for about 5 years now and have been very happy so we have no desire to switch to Sage Paperless. From what I remember, setup was a lot of work (deciding on all the workflows, etc), but it works very well for us now. Support is very good (but I dislike their online knowledgebase). We have full service contract so if there are any major updates, they connect and install on the server for us.

Do you use the Purchasing Module? How do you integrate Timberscan with the PO / INV modules?

We do not use Purchasing Module

Both product are mature.  Sage Paperless data entry workflow is a bit clunky for my taste.  Timberscan mimics AP data entry so the learning curve is very low.  

Who did your installation and training?  I initally worked with Core Assoiciates on the quote, but then found out someone else does the installation and training. 

Core did all the training from what I remember.

I have been using Sage Paperless for about 2 1/2 years, I process about 350 invoices/month. Sage Paperless integrates nicely with the Purchasing module, it is very user friendly, documents are easily visible. Great product!

How is the speed? I have heard others having issues processing invoices.

If you don't mind me asking, are you running Sage on a dedicated server, virtual server, what kind of resources?

We process about 4000 invoices a month and use purchasing module.  What do you recommend us to use?

I would look at Timberscan for a few reasons - If you have Purchasing that have a fantastic new interface for Purchasing that makes PO/IV very modern and feature rich.  

What other reasons would you pick Timberscan over Paperless? Have you looked at Update 7 for Paperless? This new interface replaced the PO/IV module in Sage?

Have not seen Update 7.  

With the release of Version 7 of Sage Paperless, AP entry personnel will be able to completely customize the entry screen for their liking.  This includes renaming fields, moving fields around on the screen, adding custom fields and the ability to skip fields that they do not use.  They can make it exactly as they want.

Does Paperless Environments have a complete list of the new features for Update 7?

Timberscan licensing is one per specific user.

Sage Paperless is concurrent users.

Have anyone gotten their quote for converting the DM files to either Timberscan or Sage Paperless?

The 50% discount only applies to the software, not the conversion of files.

Support:   Is Timberscan support separate from Sage CRE 300?

We have run into issues with Paperless Construction and closing periods in the GL.  I believe this is a known issue that wasn't brought up when we implemented Paperless Construction.  Every time we want to close a period (month) in the GL, we have to shut down Paperless completely to do so.  This gets old real fast when you manage 50+ entities in the GL.

Did you ultimately make a decision?  How did it turn out?  I am in the initial stages of evaluating both right now.  Thanks in advance.

We installed our Paperless in November 2018.  Make sure that you have sufficient disk space on your server when installing this. (16 gb)   If you have multiple companies, make sure you buy extra vaults.  Each company needs its own vault to post the AP.  

We haven't migrated over the old documents from DM.  We are planning to use a standalone PC for that and just migrate only a few old documents.

If you are coming from Document Management, you will find that in Paperless there are less steps to complete the process of archiving and approving the AP invoice.

You can index documents that are not tied to Sage.  (like Payroll documents such as Form 941, 940, W2, etc)
