Sage Service Operations - Licenses Issue / Deceptive Sales Practice?

Has anyone else had issues with Sage not allowing them to change licensing for the Service Operations product?  They are charging us for more licenses than we are using and we requested a reduction, but they say they can only increase licenses, not decrease.

We reached out to try and resolve but they will not budge.  This seems like deceptive sales practices to charge for a product you know customer will not get use from and I wondered if anyone else had the same problem.

    Hi Justice,
We offer two types of subscriptions for Sage Service Operations, a monthly plan and a discounted annual plan. It sounds like you may have the annual plan, which provides you a number of licenses for the year at a discounted rate. At the end of the plan period, you can reduce your licenses and change to a monthly plan or continue with the discounted annual plan.
If you would like more information, please let me know and I can have someone contact you.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jesse,

Thanks for the response!  I think the problem is in the communication.  We were customers of the original software developer and so you inherited us from them.  There was never any contract or communication from Sage as to what kind of plan we were on, or what the notice requirements were for licensing changes.

The way the situation was dealt with was not professional.  As a contractor, if we bid to replace the entire plumbing in your house, and you decide before we begin work to change the bid to just the kitchen area, we would be expected to give appropriate consideration for the reduced change of work scope.  It would not be acceptable to say that our system does not allow for us to give you any consideration for the reduced value so you still must pay full price.

I hope you can understand where we are coming from and look forward to working out a fair solution.
