Sage 300 CRE & Sage Estimating: Important notice regarding potential security issue with Pervasive System Analyzer

Software notice 18-D is being sent out today to customers of Sage 300 CRE & Sage Estimating:

We are sending you this notice to let you know about a security risk that affects you if you use one of the following Sage products:

  • Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate version 16.1 or earlier
  • Sage Estimating (Pervasive) version 16.1 or earlier
  • Sage Estimating (SQL) if you upgraded from Sage Estimating (Pervasive) version 16.1 or earlier

Issue

It has recently come to our attention that the Pervasive System Analyzer (PSA) may expose you to a security risk through one of the files it uses. The steps for resolving this issue depend on which product(s) you are using:

  • If you are using only Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate version 16.1 or earlier, you should do one of the following:
    • Upgrade to version 17.1.7 or version 18.1.
    • Uninstall the PSA utility.
  • If you are using both Sage Estimating (Pervasive) and Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate version 16.1 or earlier, you should do one of the following:
    • Upgrade both products to version 17.1.7. 
      Note: There is no version 18.1 for Sage Estimating (Pervasive).
    • Uninstall the PSA utility.
  • If you are using only Sage Estimating (Pervasive) version 16.1 or earlier, you should do one of the following:
    • Upgrade to Sage Estimating (Pervasive) version 17.1.7.
    • Uninstall the PSA utility.
      Note: As of December 14, 2017, Sage no longer provides updates for Sage Estimating (Pervasive). The latest supported version of Sage Estimating (SQL) is version 17.13.
  • If you are using Sage Estimating (SQL) and you upgraded from Sage Estimating (Pervasive) version 16.1 or earlier, you should uninstall the PSA utility.
