FYI - Microsoft announced that Office 2019 and Office ProPlus will default to 64 bit for new installs MC171479 - Jan 2019

FYI - Microsoft Office 2019 will default to 64 bit install unless specified.

I think BW still needs office in the 32bit for the integration?

I found this information while reading the admin panel messages in Office 365  MC171479

  • Vince - Thanks for passing that on.  Sage BusinessWorks is not supported using any 64 bit version of Microsoft Office.  For example, we support Office 2016 32 bit version only.  The system requirements indicate:  "Microsoft Office (32 bit only) - Microsoft Word and Excel are required for the Custom Office module. Sage BusinessWorks supports Microsoft Office and Office 365 (2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013) for all installations except terminal server configurations. Office and Office 365 2016 is supported with Sage BusinessWorks 2017 and above."

In addition, at this time we have not test Office 2019 and it is not listed as part of our current System Requirements.  For more information on our System Requirements, please reference article #45396 "System Requirements: Sage BusinessWorks Accounting current version" in the Knowledge Base

    Thanks!

Also, I reread the article to the link you provided.  It indicated "The 32-bit version of Office is automatically installed unless you explicitly select the 64-bit version before beginning the installation process.".  So the default will be the 32 bit.  Slight smile
