What happens to the vendor when you change it to inactive from active?

    The status option is more of a description status for the account.  No status validation is performed, and you can continue to post to inactive accounts with no prompts or flags.  Some reports allow you to to filter on status of active or inactive status.  In some look up searches it will display the vendor ID along with the status, and if using custom reports/exports you can select this status as a field for your report.   The status option is available in General Ledger accounts, vendors, customers, and parts.  For more information on this setting, please see Knowledge Base Article # 30458 "How to deactivate General Ledger accounts, vendors, customers, or parts".
