Error 114 / BV2009

Posted By FormerMember

After installing BV2009 on our network I get an error message 114 when trying to print forms to our HP Laserjet P2015D printers.  Each workstation has it's own local printer.    After the error message the application crashes.

I have talked with Sage and they say it's a driver problem.   I've tried using many other HP drivers and some print the forms, but they are not formatted correctly.  I really need to get our P2015 printers working with BV2009.    Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks.

  • I was just wondering if you solved the problem.  Out of the blue today one of our machines just started having a similar problem.

    Load Erroe: File

    Error code 104, pc = 2465, call = 1, seg = 0

104 Null File Name used in a file operation.

We have been running BV2009 since it came out around Christmas without any problems.  We only started having a problem on this one machine when we installed the recent payroll update.

I have reinstalled the Printer driver and BV but am still getting the problem if I send a report directly to the printer.  If I Have it print to screen and then send it to the printer, no problems.

Actually I've reported the problem to BV and apparently their programers are working on a solution.    Since mine are quite common printers they should certainly try to support them, no?
  • Spectrum,

Thanks for the tip that you needed to select the printer and not just leave the default printer box checked.

    It fixed my problem.

Thanks very much for the info.  I'll just have to wait for the service pack fix because in our environment I can't have the users selecting output, etc. as some are quite computer illiterate.
  • Hey Victor,

I am not sure how many users you have using the system, but it is a simple one time fix that you may be able to do.

YOu just need to go into File - Print Set Up - Print Properties.

Then you just need to select the reports that go directly to the printer such as invoices.

In the Print to Drop Down box select printer.

Then below in the Printer Options section deselect the check box that says default printer and select the printer directly in the drop down box that appears.

You would need to do this only once per user to configure the system.

Thanks.   I realize this but once again if the report goes directly to the printer then I get this error message and the app crashes.   Can't have that.
