Tax Year 2016 1099 Stand-Alone Updates have been updated as of 1/10/2017.

If you have downloaded the Tax Year 2016 1099 Stand-Alone updates for Sage 500 ERP versions 2013/2014/2016, then you should download the latest version from the portal.  The client installs have been updated.  The previous version may lead to a case where you can only submit data to the tax service in a Sage 500 ERP demo mode.  The latest update should address that issue.

After downloading, you will need to install the client portion anywhere you had previously installed the client.  You should not lose any existing data in the process.

You do not need to download the Aatrix install again.  The change is only for the Sage 500 ERP client install.

  • Will there also be an update to the Source Code files to include the 01/10/2017 client changes?
  • in reply to clucas
There is an update to the source code files for a missing VB6 ap1099FormsSvc.frx file. However, the change to the DLL where the demo data company issue is will not have a source code change as Sage does not distribute that source code due to the proprietary nature of that particular DLL.
  • Is this fix relevant for folks who only print hardcopies and do not plan to submit data electronically?

Yes.  When Sage 500 ERP determines a demo mode is in play (there are various reasons), it alters the data that is sent to the tax service provider. So when it was incorrectly determining the demo data mode in some cases, it would alter the source data sent to the tax service provider, which would cause any 1099s to be affected regardless of how the 1099s were printed or transmitted.
