Many customers will find it very convenient to process physical inventory using Data Porter. Data Porter imports data into Sage 500 from Microsoft Excel, which reduces the data entry time, and does not require that employees counting physical inventory are trained or given the access to Process Physical Inventory task. They can enter all counts into an already formatted Excel spreadsheet. After that only one Sage 500 user can import all the counts using Data Porter. Sage 500 user just needs to be savvy with copy/paste functionality in MS Excel.

The attached MS Word file has this procedure explained step-by-step with all necessary screenshots. Please keep in mind that you need to have Data Porter module activated and MS Excel installed at the workstation used to process physical counts.
