Sage 100 and Paya (formerly Sage Payment Solutions) integration

Issue

On Friday, June 1, 2018, Paya made changes to their system as part of a PCI compliance mandate intended to improve the security of credit card transactions. As we previously communicated, Sage Exchange Desktop (SED) version 1.x was retired at this time because it was no longer compatible.

Due to an unexpected impact on Sage 100 customers’ ability to process credit card and ACH transactions, Paya temporarily reverted the change, but it will be reimplemented on June 25, 2018.

Required actions

Depending on which version of SED you are using, one or both of the following issues will affect your ability to process credit card and ACH transactions beginning June 25, 2018:

  • A program fix is required to run the settlement report
  • Sage Exchange Desktop 1.x is no longer compatible with Sage 100

Program fix required to run settlement report

Beginning June 25, 2018, a program fix must be installed to run the Credit Card and ACH Settlement Report. To install this program fix, click the link below for your version of Sage 100:

  • 2018.2 – program fix AR6005T
  • 2017.4 – program fix AR5012T
  • 2016.5 – program fix AR5011T (Program fix AR5005T is also required to use SED.)
  • 2015.5 – program fix AR5010T (Program fix AR5006T is also required to use SED.)

Sage Exchange Desktop 1.x is no longer compatible with Sage 100

If you are using SED 1.x, you can no longer process credit card transactions through Sage 100 beginning June 25, 2018.

To verify what version of SED is installed on a workstation, right-click the SED icon in the Windows system tray and then select About Sage Exchange Desktop. The version number appears in the About window.

To continue processing credit cards, install SED version 2.x. If you have not yet upgraded to one of the compatible versions of Sage 100 listed in the section above, you can still install SED version 2.x and process credit cards through the virtual terminal, but you must manually update the transactions in Sage 100.

For instructions on installing SED 2.x, see article number 82209 in the Sage Knowledgebase.
