The variable INVOICE_ITEM.QUANTITY will total if you add it into the Invoice Number Footer section of the layout when you edit it to open it in the Report Designer.

I'm really sorry, unfortunately the functionality to give a warning that there is a zero quantity or price isn’t available in Sage 50c Accounts.

As the software is an off the shelf product, sometimes it doesn't meet everyone's needs.

I have used the variable and with he help of the SUM Expression can now see the total quantity on the invoice but only after it has been created and previewed prior to printing. However, and isn't there always a but somewhere, what I really would like is to see the variable as the invoice is being created. On the invoice creation screen, there is a box on the right which shows the number of lines entered in real time. Is there any way that I can get into the Invoice creation screen and add my new Quantity variable which will also show in real time as the invoice is created. I do understand the "off the shelf product" and this may be a programming screen, but ask the question nevertheless. Thank you, Neville.
