Connection Manager not working on Computer # 2

Sage 50 Premium 2017.2    Multi user.  Sysadmin computer is master on network....working fine.   Connection Manager is fine and working :  Total Connections = 2, Active Companies = 1

What does the Total Connections  2 mean?  

Second Computer - did a reinstall and now cannot access connection manager.  Googled everything.  Total Connection and Active Companies are both = 0.  I can find the SAI file on the network to open but connection manger is not allowing files to open.

    Hi, I have been on chat and also tried support.  I cannot get any help because it has expired.  I think it is unfair that Sage now wants me to upgrade at a cost of about $600 to help me.  The master files are fine on sysadmin.  It is our second computer that cannot find the connection manager.  It is on the system , it is running but it does not connect.   There were also several Window 10 updates that happened.

    Is there any help out there as opposed to having to buy a new version and reinstall  +++.  We are a small company and the version we have works fine.  If the cost was more reasonable I might consider.
