Help with Import issues

Hi,

I am posting this on behalf of a client who is a Sage 50 user. We have generated an .IMP file from our software for them to import into Sage 50, and they have been getting a variety of errors that are very hard to troubleshoot - maybe one of you will know what is going on, or can spot the issue.

We thought we were following the documentation to the letter in generating the IMP files, but something keeps going wrong. Here is an example file that they tried to import (some details changed to protect privacy):

<Version>
"12001", "1"
</Version>

<SalInvoice>
"ABC Destructors Country Inc.", " ", "Pan Olness", "1330 Flambe Place", "", "Winington", "ND", "", "USA", "", "", "[email protected]"
"1",,"750000","11-28-2018","2","123456789","2772.00","0.00",
"description product purchased","1.0000","2640.0000","2640.00","GST","0","1","5.00","132.00"
</SalInvoice>
<SalInvoice>
"Nectar Confluction Ltd.", " ", "Jane Effs", "747 Plovercourt Drive", "", "Winington", "ON", "", "CA", "", "", "[email protected]"
"1",,"750001","11-28-2018","2","12345679","25.43","0.00",
"AABB 48 2002 E (Members)","1.0000","22.5000","22.50","GST","0","1","5.00","1.13","PST","0","0","8.00","1.80"
</SalInvoice>
<SalInvoice>
"Bricksteel Contradiction Limited", " ", "James Bricksteel", "1000-200 Paduan Road", "", "Winington", "ON", "", "CA", "", "", "[email protected]"
"1",,"750002","12-11-2018","2","456789","262.50","0.00",
"BOXING STUFF: Means and Eagles - After an Error you Exits - Non Member Fee","1.0000","250.0000","250.00","GST","0","1","5.00","12.50"
</SalInvoice>

The result was they got to choose revenue streams for two invoices then it crashed, when trying to import the same file again after re-opening, they got this error:

After saying OK, they checked what had made it in - it imported the first two transactions and did not import the third one. I assume it crashed when trying to import the third transaction.

When we created a new .IMP file with just the third transaction in it, Sage crashed when they tried the import, right away. They tried twice with the same results.

That's not all: we created a new file with more transactions in it, which immediately provided the following error:

The first few lines of that file were:

<Version>
"12001", "1"
</Version>

<SalInvoice>
"ABC Destructors... etc.

The first transaction was the same as the first transaction above. Can anyone please point out where we are going wrong?

Thank you very much in advance!

Regards,
Kevin Jackson
