Understanding Sage Capture, Sage Contact, and Sage Intelligence

This blog will explain the features of Sage Capture, Sage Contact, and Sage Intelligence.
These applications can be accessed once you’ve completed the Office 365 integration with Sage 50cloud

Sage Capture

Sage Capture is a new feature of Sage 50cloud that integrates with Microsoft Office 365. It’s a mobile app that allows you to create vendor invoices and payments on-the-go. Simply snap a photo of a supplier invoice or receipt, save it to OneDrive, and post transactions to your Sage 50cloud company. As you upload an image, you also have the option to enter a related transaction. It’s never been easier to keep track of your purchases! No matter where you are, your expenses are recorded and the headache of lost receipts is a thing of the past. Sage Capture is available for iPhone and Android.

When you download the app and open it for the first time, you are prompted to log on with your Office ID, accept the Sage 50cloud Capture App to access your company information, and create a 4-digit passcode.

Your camera opens by default. To access the main menu, swipe right.

It's as simple as snapping a photo!

Within the app on your phone, you can create a transaction based on the image taken or select Image Only. Select the transaction type and fill out the required fields to record a vendor invoice or receipt. If the invoice is paid immediately, then a payment can be recorded as part of the transaction. Only payment in full can be recorded in the app. The 2 transactions will be recorded in your Sage 50 company.

The image is saved on OneDrive and any associated transactions are downloaded into your Sage 50 company with a link to the image. Sage 50cloud syncs regularly with MS O365 and picks up any new transactions from Sage Capture.

Sage Contact

When you sync your Sage 50 company data with Office 365, the Sage Contact add-in imports all of your Sage 50 customers and vendors as Contacts in Outlook 365. When you update contact details or create new contacts in Outlook 365, they will import into the linked Sage 50 Company the next time you open it. By using the Sage Contact add-in feature, you can show the financial information of your Sage 50cloud contacts when creating or receiving emails in O365. You can create new contacts, link an email address with an existing Sage contact, and view customer and vendor information. 

Select your Sage 50 Contact from the list of contacts. You will see your contact in the To field. Select the Sage Contact Icon and the customer's (or vendor's) information will appear on the right-hand side under Sage Contact. This overview shows financial information and contact details. The History tab shows the amount owed and the last 5 invoices and payments. You can enter additional notes. 

You can easily modify the contact information through the Sage Contact add-in. Any changes you make within Office 365 will be imported into Sage 50.  When creating an email with an email address that doesn't exist in Sage, you can link it to an existing contact or create a new one. To create a new contact, enter the information on the right-hand side.

 

Sage Intelligence

The Sage Intelligence Reporting Cloud allows you to view financial reports from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone without having to go into your Sage 50cloud Company. Complete tasks faster and more accurately by using this add-in!

Our new user interface includes the following features:

  • Ability to create new folders in My Reports and keep your custom reports organized
  • New options button in the top right with a list of report options
  • Ability to Edit Name, Description, and Report in custom reports
  • Export Reports to PDF
  • Help resources are grouped together in the Help Icon
  • More features to help you work more efficiently and accurately

The Sage 50 Intelligence Reporting Cloud is accessed from your Office 365 Portal. 

Sage Intelligence will open in a new window. Your information will be loaded automatically if your company is connected. If you have multiple companies, then select Data Load and select the company you would like to load. You have 2 options from the main menu: My Reports and Standard Reports.

You can Run, Copy, and Export the Standard Reports. You can also create your own reports with the options to Edit and Delete them. See the Balance Sheet Report below.

The Sage Intelligence Reporting Cloud will have even more reports available in the new 2018.2 update.
