New York State Family Leave Act

SOLVED

When are the updates coming to payroll?  The deductions could have begun 7/1/17but there has been NO communication from Sage as to status; instructions; etc. etc...  My boss is wondering when we can begin deductions but cannot until instructions and/or updates are sent.  I run payroll in house and have done it for 11 + years.  I hope I chose the correct category and sub category because nothing matched this questions.

They purposely make the Knowledgeless (yes correct) difficult to understand so you have to call support to use one of your support calls.  My question is answered because the update now allows for percentage deductions.  WOO HOO!! I used myself as a 'dummy' payroll run and it worked.  If you are running disability I have tried twice without call and following instructions with not good results.  I will be calling them in February for assistance on that.  So quite frankly as I said before the article is useless!!

They won't help you screen by screen.  You will have to call them.  Also it can't be done until after year end unless you are starting the deductions now.  I can set up the deductions and as this money doesn't go to the state as a tax it is just a regular deduction except using percentage.  You will need the most current Business Works update to do percentages.  If you don't have it your company will need to upgrade.  Otherwise you have to figure the deduction for each employee by hand!!

I actually don't have BusinessWorks.  I have Sage 50 Premium 2018 (just renewed a couple of months ago) but I had posted here because this was the only place anybody had talked about it.
Anyway, an analyst called me yesterday and we spent about 30-45 minutes on the phone with him telling me screen by screen, field by field, where to input the formula, etc. Since we are starting it in the new year, we deactivated it and he told me what to go in and check/uncheck when it's time.
    Thank you for the replies.
