Timeslips 2008 opens to a blank window

SOLVED

Worked perfectly on Friday 8/11/17. Ran Windows 7, java and adobe updates, as well as installed Office 2013 on Saturday. Tested it after the updates and it worked. Tried yesterday now its not working???? Help!!!!

Timeslips 2008 opens but will not populate any data. I don't get any errors just the window with the tool/menu bar across the top. The app recognizes the network database location (z:\timeslips\....etc. and appears to load it. I get the searching/opening database window top left corner, then the next screen which I click ok. After that I have the center of the screen is blank.  I have a the toolbar across the top but no data populates the screen. No errors pop up, the menus appear to work and when clicked on will pull down, but If I try clicking on a command or search nothing happens, no further windows open and the system has no response. It will not allow me to shut down or exit the program unless I go to task manager and end the timeslips.exe file. Attached are screenshots I get when opening the program as well as my mapped drives. Absolutely any input suggestions or solutions you may have would be greatly appreciated. Any suggestions, I am at a loss.

Timeslips 2008 is very old, as you are aware, not sure it even supported Windows 7. First thing I would try is right click on Timeslips and run as administrator. Also, do you run Teamviewer? If so, make sure Quick Connect is turned off.

if neither of the above helps, try deleting or renaming the TImeslip.ini and prefs.prf file on the local workstation and see if that helps.

Hi Caren2, thank you for your response and solution to my issue. I realize that TS 2008 is very old and support for it would almost be obsolete. But then you came to the rescue!! You are my hero! It was the Team Viewer that caused the issue. I had configured it for unattended remote access, to start with Windows, assigned it to our account and enabled easy access so that I could login remotely by just double clicking on the computer. I signed out of Team Viewer and launched TS and to my surprise and absolute contentment my data populated and everything is functional again. Thank you so much for your quick reply and pinpoint accuracy help!

Glad I was able to help. Just turn off QuickConnect in TeamViewer and you should be good even if it is running. If you ever decide to upgrade, just let me know and I will be happy to help.
