Upgrading from 2015 to 2018 - did not realize I needed to convert the database...now I am stuck.

SUGGESTED

I work for a small law firm.  We recently purchased 2 license upgrades for an upgrade from 2015 to 2018.  I tried to install the upgrade over the weekend (when technical support is closed) and now I am stuck.  It seems that I did not realize I needed to convert the data base from our 2015 version beforehand.  Also, this 2018 version seems to not have the same installation/application requirements that the previous versions did.  Now I've installed my upgrade but cannot access my database. Every time I try, I get this message:

------------------------------------------------------------

Sage Timeslips has encountered an error

Unable to create database TSReg

Error Code: n/a

Class: Exception

Version: 26.0.1.228

Date: 8/6/2017

Does anyone have a solution or even an idea of where to start?  I'd appreciate it very much.  Thank you.

When you go to open the database you have to point to where the old one was as a local database. I can't Help tonight but can in the morning if you want to reach out to me. You don't convert in advance you convert when you open in new version.

When you go to open it should let you choose network or local. Choose local and then tell it to look for main.db.

    • You can also look For the error in the Timeslips knowledgebase or via google.  Look for create tsreg

Using Timeslips Administrator on the server, click Diagnose This Computer and click the option at the bottom to create the TSReg.FDB file.  The converted database should have been saved successfully already.
