Slip Listing Window Text is Invisible

SOLVED

We're using Timeslips 2014 in Windows 10.  We have several computers attached to a server that hosts our database.  On one of the client computers, the text in the Slip Listing window is always invisible - no matter what the filters.  This happens every single time.  There are selectable colored rows representing each of the slips. but the text that should show up in those rows is not there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  The rest of the computers, running Windows 10 and connected to the same database, do not have this error.  What's the problem, and I how do I fix it?  Thanks for any help anybody can provide.

I was unable to find a suitable category for this post.

Here is a screenshot of the problem:

First I will start by saying that Timeslips 2014 is not supported on Windows 10. My best guess, without seeing it, is that the problem is based on the windows color scheme for the computer. That is where I would look and compare this machine with others. I don't think it is a Timeslips issue. The one thing you might try in Timeslips is go to setup - preferences - interface - appearance - restore all windows to default. See if that makes a difference.

The knowledgebase article 15147 contains the fix for this issue.  Resetting preferences will correct it as well, but will reset everything as opposed to just this window.

I've seen this one a few times in the past. It's not so much that the text is hidden, as it is that there are NO fields chosen to be displayed. If you notice at the top of the columns where you would normally see titles like: Date, ID, Timekeeper, Activity, etc. Your example has NO titles displayed.

I am not aware that it has anything to do with any color display settings on your PC. This IS a Timeslips issue.

Roger's suggestion about the knowledge base article is the way to go here. But I wanted to clarify/expand on it just a bit.

When you RIGHT-click on the aqua/white bars and choose List Appearance Properties, you will get a pop up window with three tabs across the top. Those tabs are: Field Selection, Color and Appearance, and Hide and Show Areas.

To get some fields into your list, use the first tab and under Field Themes, choose Common and then click the Apply button to the right of that. It will populate your list with the default/common fields you are used to seeing. But notice that you can now play around with which fields you would like to see now. Most of my clients don't make changes to this, but you could.....

One other thing that I like to do for my clients is get rid of that obnoxious bright Aqua color in the lines. It has been Aqua for a LONG time, but once you know you can change it, suffering with it any longer is just painful to the eyes. So while you have the List Appearance Properties up, go to the second tab: Color and Appearance and make some changes there as well. I usually 1) CHECK the box to "Alternate the color of each record instead of each row." Since on the Common view, each slip takes up TWO rows, making those rows the same color makes it much easier to look at the right data, and 2) Change the color from Aqua to whatever you like. I usually make it Sky Blue or Gradient Inactive to give it just a milder/subtler view.

Just click OK at the bottom right when you are done with your changes and you should be off to the races. Hope this helps.
