File menu and new empty database; create anywhere you like and open that database. File menu and restore the previous backup to this new location. Please pay attention to which database you are in!

Thank you. I did this and then tried opening the database and received this error "file name is too long for a paradox version 5.0 table". What do I do?

You can't restore directly from CD/DVD. Copy the file to the hard drive and then try it.

I was able to create a blank database and restore it from the backup. Now when I click on my shortcut for Timeslips on my desktop it takes me to the test database. I am unable to open my original database. I went to its location in my program files and clicked on main.mb and was unable to open it. Is it a different file to open the database?

Nevermind. I was able to open my original one by going to file open database then program files and it was there.
