Timeslips Amicus Attorney Exchange Errors out when Client Information is Changed in Amicus, particularly when Amicus or Timeslips Case is Inactive

I have sage timeslips linked to Amicus Attorney Small Firm Classic. Overall, the pairing works well. The problem begins when an address or other linked information is changed in Amicus. When this is done, I get a message when exchanging time from Amicus to Timeslips requesting me to confirm nickname 1 and nickname 2 of the new client, who is really the client with the changed information. If I click OK to confirm, Timeslips tells me that one or both of the nicknames are already in use. My current workaround is to change the nickname, via Timeslips, of the client so that there is no longer a conflict, but this creates a mess over time and I desire a cleaner solution. The problem seems to only be affecting inactive cases. I have tried reactivating the cases in TS and AA, but this has not helped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If cases have been made inactive you need to reactivate them and then make sure they are linked before you make changes. Sometimes this requires going into the connected databases table in Timeslips and updating the matter. Alternatively you can create a new matter in Timeslips.
When you update information in Amicus to send to Timeslips you have to make sure you update the billing information box within Amicus in order to do everything correctly.
You might want to invest in a brief training session with a consultant (like myself or Nancy Duhon) who is certified in both programs and can review your current processes and help with how to properly update.

Thank you for your prompt response! Could you please provide some clarification to a couple of your points?

1.) You mention that clients must be reactivated, do you mean in AA, TS or both?
2.) How do I make sure they are linked before you make changes? I have looked under File > Connected Databases and see none, however, the system is exchanging time from AA normally and otherwise working well.

    Thanks again!

The client must be open in Timeslips and must be open and billable in Amicus Attorney.
Not sure why you don't see connected databases. Thought they were in place with the Amicus SF / Timeslips link but I could be mistaken.

Hello Caren, clients open in TS and open and billable in AA, still no luck...
