Rate Increas

Hi,

Is there a way to increase rates beginning effective on a certain date without overriding current rates for any unbilled time? Thanks in advance!

When you change the rate levels you will be asked if you want to update older slips. This allows you to control, however the rates go into effect immediately for all new slips so if someone enters a slip with a prior date it would need to be manually changed to the old rate.

Yes, depending on how you have set up your rates.

Make a backup first before you try any of this as it is a lot like "search and replace" in a word processing document.

If you are keying off Timekeeper rates, when you open the Timekeeper record, change the rate and click the save icon, you should get a Rate Update Wizard that kicks in asking you if you would like to affect existing slips.  You get a chance in the Wizard to tell Timeslips to only affect slips after a certain date.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Amy and from Timeslips Help,

    Updating rates automatically

If you mark the Update Rates when saving new rates check box (on the Interface page of the Personal Preferences dialog box ), the Update Rates wizard will open automatically, whenever you:

Edit a nonzero rate for a timekeeper, client, or task

Add or edit a rate selection rule for a client

This wizard will walk you through the process of updating slips to use new billing rates.

This includes offering a calendar for when the rate change should be effective.

Note the above location for the check box mentioned is not accurate for TS 2015.

Thanks to all for your comments. Here's where I am confused. There are "templates" set up and the rate levels are completely not matching...how this happens, who knows. Can I add the new rates to the client templates and still specify a start date? I bet not. How about setting up a new rate completely, then in the template, use the rate level on the drop down to match? I am seriously confused.
