BILLABLE HOURS TOTAL IS NOT ADDING CORRECTLY

Please help..  I have printed pre-bills on some cases and the billable hours are not adding correctly.  I have manually added them myself and although the hours add up to be 3.0 hours, the Billable Fees total at the end of the pre-bill shows 34.22 hours.  It makes no sense..

What version of Timeslips?  Do you have the latest service release for that version?

Are you using a filter on the bill?  I.e., only some of the slips?  Do you have any Do Not Bill slips for this client?

We are using Timeslips By Sage 2009.  As for filters, I have not added any filters since the last time we ran bills on these particular clients.  If there were do not bill slips, they were not on the dates that are being run for these pre-bills.  A quick synopsis - I did duplicate time entries to four other clients.  It's the same litigation but with five different clients, so I had to duplicate the time entries.  If that makes sense, I wasn't sure if that had something to do with it.

Is the client on a flat fee? Without looking at your bill layout and your system I think this is going to be hard to troubleshoot. You can try clearing all filters on the report and starting again. I might suggest going to setup - preferences - interface - restore all windows to default size and position. Then try again. That will clear any stuck filters that might be hidden away.

Will restoring all windows to default size and position affect anything that is working right?  The lady who knew anything about timeslips had an aneurism and is no longer here.  We are stuck trying to figure this all out on our own :(  ....  Now I think I know why she had an aneurism. ha ha

It will clear filters on screens but nothing that you can't fairly easily setup again. You might benefit from some training :) Also you are running a very old, unsupported version.

If you go to Help (at the very top), then About Timeslips by Sage 2009, that will open a window which will tell you the Build Number.  You want to see 17.0.1.473.  Is that what you have?

What do you see if you run a PreBill Worksheet on this same client with the same filters?

I no doubt need training.  I have billings that I need to get out and for some reason, it's only these five clients in which I duplicated time entries for that the billable hours are not adding up correctly in.  How do I get support, and the cost, etc.  If I can't fix this on my own, it needs to be fixed :(

    The Build Number is 17.0.2.0481

The filters are clear, I ran it again just to check.  I only select client and slip dates.  There are no other filters.

    MPORTER15:

Unfortunately, your version is "officially unsupported" by Sage Software.  That means you cannot call the company and get any help. They will insist that you buy an upgrade before they will talk to you.

On the other hand, there is a network of Certified Consultants such as Caren Schwartz and myself who can provide individual support to both older unsupported versions as well as current versions for a fee.  We can also quote you an upgrade price if you need that as well. You would need to contact one of us to discuss our rates.

You can find a listing of Certified Consultants here: sagesoftwarecertifiedconsultants.com/CC-Timeslips

if you would like to try and find someone local to you.  Take your time on the form, it is a bit tricky.  If you cannot find anyone local to you, most of us also provide assistance via remote desktop to anyone with a high speed internet connection and a phone call.  Often this works quite well for folks.

    Hope this helps.
