I would uninstall/turn off User Account Control (UAC) and try reinstalling again.
Make sure the new user has appropriate rights both on local machine and on server.
Can you access functions from the menu bar on this computer?
the only function that works from the menu bar is the new slip. nothing else works. he can't even click the "x" to exit the program. what is UAC and where is it?? thank you so much for answering me.
UAC is found in the control panel and is supposed to help stop unwanted changes to the computer by programs. It can cause problems when installing software. If you have other computers in the office successfully running Timeslips, there is something quite different about this one. If you have IT support, you might want to ask their assistance.
it's on the lowest setting and says it's off.
my it person has worked on this for over an hour with no luck.
Does your computer have Teamviewer installed? If so, you will want to disable the QuickConnect button.
After you click on the icon, click on Window in the main drop down and verify that the item you clicked on shows in the list. If it does, click on Cascade and it should appear on your screen.
You may also want to replace your preferences file if these suggestions do not work.
And, for 'sanity testing', try logging onto that computer as a different Windows user and see if Timeslips works correctly. That would be an indication of a damaged User Profile in Windows that your IT guy would need to correct.
Lastly, a complete re-install of Timeslips on this workstation may be necessary.
instructions for most of these suggestions are located in the Sage knowledgebase at http://support.na.sage.com
TEAMVIEWER WAS THE PROBLEM AND UNCHECKING THE "QUICKCONNECT" IMMEDIATELY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THANKS. OF COURSE I FOUND THIS OUT YESTERDAY AFTER PAYING TIMESLIPS $100 TO HELP ME. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE ELSE WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS.
