My best guess is that when you reinstalled, you did not apply the Service Release.  Version 2012 had one service release.  If you go to Help, About Timeslips 2012 and look at the build number, if the Service Release has been applied it should read: 20.0.1.54.

As 2012 is no longer supported, I do not believe that the Service Release is still available from Sage directly via download.  You would either have had to save the Service Release on a hard drive when you initially downloaded it (and now find it), or you will need to contact a Certified Consultant who has the Service Release in their software library.

Is this on Windows 8 perhaps?  I've never seen the issue with Windows 7, but Windows 8 and 8.1 will have that exact issue occur on any version of Timeslips prior to 2014 due to a re-coding of the RTF system by Microsoft.
