Exporting to LEDES with TimeSlips 2010

Hello,

We recently engaged with a new client who requires invoices to be uploaded in LEDES format (LEDES 1998B, 1998BI, 2000 or XML 2.1). We use TimeSlips 2010 and, for all other clients, send printed or PDF invoices. I can see that TS 2010 is capable of exporting in LEDES 1998B, but I can't figure out how to get to the dialogue box...

Advice? Directions?

Thank you!

In order to create bills in Ledes 1998B format you need to purchase the electronic billing add-on. Unfortunately this is only available for purchase if you are on a currently supported version. So, unless you already own the add-on you will have to upgrade and purchase the add-on. Sometimes the setup is a little tricky but once setup it runs nicely.

If you go into setup - features enabled you will be able to tell if you already own the add on and just need to enable it.

If you would like assistance you could consider contacting me or one of the other certified consultants that provide help on this forum.

I recently took over an office management position. The employee before me was able to export bills to LEDES format no biggie (which means we must have the add on purchased and installed) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. Can somebody please help on steps to doing so? Thank you.

Assuming you have the LEDES add-on and everything is setup correctly on the matter (big assumptions)

    1. Run the bills and put in proof stage

    2. Go to bills - send bills to audit houses

    3. You will choose the audit house based on your setup and the date range of the invoices and create the .DAT files for upload.

The export is the easy part. Making sure the client is correctly setup is more complex. If you would like help or training you can reach out to a certified consultant such as me or @nancy duhon and we can discuss how we can assist.

I would love if I could get more assistance from you as I don't even see the option to send bills to audit house.

Myself and a couple of colleagues have prepared an extensive manual for LEDES billing in Timeslips. You might want to purchase the manual and use that first, then hire a consultant if you have further questions.

You can find more information about the manual here: http://www.certifiedresourcesnetwork.com/

Timeslips 2010 had the option to export bills using LEDES 1997A or LEDES 1998B format.  Current versions of Timeslips Premium can export in the newer LEDES 1998BI, LEDES 2000 and LEDES XML formats as well.

@ RogerS Thank you. Are you able to tell me maybe at what point this option is available? I got to the point of printing the bills and now they are stuck in the proof stage.

The very last option under your Bills menu will be where the export process continues.
