Closed Clients

Hi, All.  Was wondering if anyone knew how to fix balances showing up for clients on the Aged A/R Transactions report when there should be no balance showing?  It looks as if the entire total of every invoice sent for the clients is reflected.  What happened is that I messed up and closed some clients per former employee's instructions but was not made aware of the issues of closing a client that has outstanding issues (unbilled transactions, undoable invoice, etc.).  I have done the data verification but that was no help.  We have a very old version of Timeslips (2005).  I tried to change balances on the billing assistant per some instructions I saw on another website but I can't seem to be able to do that with our version of Timeslips.

Can anyone tell me if this issue can be fixed and, if so, how to fix it. Thanks a bunch!!

    It probably can be fixed, but to be honest, I am having trouble following your post.

    Closed clients typically do not show up on the Aged A/R report.  Are they showing on yours?

    Are those the accounts that are messed up?  Or are other Open clients showing up incorrect?

    What about them is incorrect?  Can you describe it?

    Here's the thing, that really sounds like something that it would be better to hire a Certified Consultant for rather than try to post messages back and forth on a bulletin board.  Many of us here work via remote desktop tools with users all over the country.  If you have a local Certified Consultant that your firm already uses, give them a call.  Otherwise you might want to float the idea of hiring someone to help you with this to get it done right and quickly.

    You probably need to start by changing the clients back to open. Beyond that Nancy is right you probably need some eyes on assistance.

    Thanks for your response, Ms. Duhon.  I believe that I will have to hire a certified consultant.  For the record, closed clients were showing up on the A/R report, which I found odd because I didn't think that was supposed to happen either.  The balances on those clients which were closed (accidently) were all zero, but it seems as if balances from all invoices done for a certain matter has been included in the A/R report, also prints a balance on a prebill.  It seems as if our the balances for our open clients are correct though, and that is a good thing.  I will take your recommendation and seek some certified help.
