TS 2008 - Abbreviations inserting a return instead of a space

Our Timeslips 2008 is installed on two computers (networked). One computer is working fine. On the other, out of nowhere, when an abbreviation is entered and the space bar is pressed to "expand" the abbreviation, it is expanded, but instead of staying on the same line so additional information can be added, the cursor jumps to the next line (plus one space) and the user is required to backspace to get back up to the line where the abbreviation was expanded. Any idea what may have happened, or what setting may have been inadvertently changed? It's not an impossible situation, but certainly an annoying one.

  • I don't have an answer for you but my guess is that the computer where this just started happening might have a different version of Office on it?  Also please make sure you are running the same Timeslips Service Release on both computers.

Other than that, I am out of ideas.

  • I believe there was a Service Release to fix that.  Sounds like one of your machines does not have that Service Release applied.

    Hope this helps.
