Is there the capability to send out mass emails?

I saw that 3 and 4 years ago, questions similar to this were asked, but I am not sure whether things have changed since then. We are on Timeslips 2015. Currently, when we want to send out mass communications to clients saying "it's been 5 years, you may want to come back and have things reviewed", etc. etc., I run a report with specific filters, download the results to Excel, do a mail merge in Word, and then we mail out  traditional, hardcopy letters. I know that there is mail merge capability in Timeslips that perhaps could been used as an alternative, but the way we have been doing it has been in place for a long time.

Now the reason for my question - instead of hardcopy letters, management would now like to send out mass emails for these 5 year reminders. Is there a way via Timeslips? For the most part, the body/verbage of the emails would be consistent, but the client name and a few other things would need to be customized for each email. If there is not a way, then I will have to try to do it in a way similar to what I am doing now for the hardcopy letters, i.e. downloading the data and doing it out of MS Word.

Thank you!

You can email bills out of Timeslips but I would think that these envisioned emails are the job of your email client?

I think that the reason there is some interest in being able to do this is that Timeslips already has the email addresses stored in its database.

    I don't think so.

If you were sticking with snail mail, Timeslips could make the process easier using its Mail Merge feature (select Reports > Mail Merge). Here you can design your letter inserting some Timeslips fields, set up your filters, and print out your letters. But you cannot email them.

I think Word has the ability to email with its mail merge, but Timeslips doesn't tie into that.

Yeah, I suppose you will have to export your mailing list out of TSlips and then into Outlook and send out a group email, or batches of group emails (blind-cc'd). At least that way you will have your TSlips account emails in an Outlook Group when you need to send a quick email or send out a mass email.

What about the Timeslips Outlook Link? With this, one has, I think, the capability of sending a general email message from many places within Timeslips and not just from the bill, statement, reprinted bill or receipt dialog boxes. We do not have the link setup so I can only guess how it works from reading the doc. Would the email message option using the Timeslips Outlook link NOT work for sending mass "reminder" emails (all the same except for a few customized fields) because (1) sending an email this way is not associated with a template and (2) is done one client at a time?
