Filter doesn't work

When I click on "Client Selection" and mark only one or two client names, and I try to print a report or a bill, I receive the following error message:

"The filter does not exclude any records.  It will be reverted to its previous settings unless you edit it.  Do you want to edit the filter again?"  When I click "yes" and go back to the client list, the same one or two marks are there, indicating they are the only names to be included in the requested report, but it's as if TS does not read the marks.  Any fix?
