"Quik save" and Ledes Export

  • We currently are on version 2011.  Previously, users were able to perform what I call Quik Save shortcuts.  In one instance, a user would hit Ctl-S which would both save and begin a new slip.  Now one must select both Ctl-S, then Ctl-N to do the same work.  In another commonly used instance, use of the List button would Save and go back to the list.  That also is no longer available.  One now must select Save and then select List.  Why do programmers take features backwards?  It's the simple tricks like these that users miss the most!

Along a similar vein, the process for creating Ledes files for export used to be easier.  As someone else in this forum noted, it takes quite a bit of time getting each invoice ready for export since each must be done individually.  Previously it was a couple of steps shorter... one selected Filters, the Client filter Group, Client Selection, selected a client and then finished the steps to create a file for export.  Then, for the next file, the previous filter selection held.  One would only need to change the client and then finish.  Now, one must go through the entire process each and every time.

Ctl-S has always been just Save.  Ctl-N is the dual duty Save AND create a new slip.

    Hope this helps.

  • I had no idea that Ctl-N also saved before creating a new slip.  Thank you.  Do you have any suggestions as to my other 2 items on my wish list?
