Our customer’s do not use the HR package – they strictly use the Payroll package.  So, I’m understanding that there is no way to associate a project in Payroll unless you have the HR package also.  In ABRA Suite we used the prjobcst table, using the project, jobcode, earncode and expacct along with the employee, dates, and hours and payrate.

Secondly, if we sold the HR package to our customers in addition to the payroll package, and set up projects, would we then be able to change the hours per project on the time card every week? Also, some of the “projects” will only last a day – so we really wouldn’t want to set up a GL distribution for this…For example – our customers are mainly landscape and lawn maintenance companies.  Each project would be the job site where they are installing landscape or performing lawn care services (mowing, fertilizing, pruning, etc).  For a landscape company – their GL distribution would go to landscape labor (it wouldn’t distribute to a GL account by job) and it might only take them one day to complete the landscape job – so my understanding is in HR I would need to set up the project and then assign the employees to it so that I could get their hours to the project – and I would have to do this for every landscape job they do each week? Our lawn maintenance companies will work on the same project every week  - but maybe only for an hour  - so would I be able to change on the time card the number of hours for each of these projects each week?  I only want the total hours printing on the stub – not have it broken out by project either…
