How do you reset a user password in an Endpoint/Folder in version 7?

SOLVED

On two X3 version 7 installs with patch 5, the password button in Setup > Users > Users is missing.  I know this doesn't matter when logging into Syracuse, but Addons like ADC still use this user account and password.  How would I go about resetting a user password at the folder level in version 7?

Thanks,

I'm new to V7, but try Administration> Users.

    Matt,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is the Syracuse X3 login.  While that login is the norm and needs to be managed for normal X3 browser connections, the ADC add-on appears to be using the v6 login since it is using the web server (web services) component.

What's confusing is most setups will use the same login in Syracuse as the endpoint, but the passwords will be different since a new account in v6 will have a blank password.  There should be some way to reset or even sync the passwords so users with a handheld won't have to know a different password than if they login from a computer.

    Hi Kurt:

The user should be able to change their V6 password by going to Usage, Users, Password Change.

But the Password Deletion in Setup, Users,Users, does not exist any more in V7, although I was able to add it back in using the similar changes to Window object.

    Ali,

Thanks for the suggestion, but what I'm looking for is how to reset a users password if they forget it.  The issue came up because I was testing an account in the endpoint that I had changed the password and had initially forgot.  I wanted to be able to reset it to blank as you would normally do from the Setup > Users > Users function.

According to the online help for the Users function, there is a Password function to reset the password but I cannot locate it.

I think the reset password was removed to avoid confusion, but you can add it back in by following below steps:

    1. Open Development, Script dictionary, Windows.
    2. Select OAUS window.
    3. Add below two lines to the Buttons/Menus tab and validate.

    Hi Ali,

We have tried adding this and have made sure to validate the window. However, when I go in to delete the password I get a prompt that says "password cancelled", however when I try to log in with no password afterwards (we are currently able to log in this way after deleting a password in X3V6), we are not able to log in. I am however still able to use my original password that was set up with the standard authorization setup. Do you have any suggestions for what I may have done wrong?

    Thanks,
