Hi,

I'm going to quote Sage X3's help here:

"A sold product can be:

a standard product,
a flexible kit: A flexible kit defines a group of products usually sold together. It is possible to delete certain products from the BOM as required.
a fixed kit: A fixed kit defines a group of products that must be sold together. It is not possible to delete products from the BOM."

which basically means where you create an order for a flex kit product, you will be able to delete any of the components that comes with the parent product, which is not the case for fixed kits.


to setup flexible kits:
- go to products-- sales tab and select flex kit radio button
- go to common data--bom codes and define a commercial bom code
- go to common data -- commercial boms and define a BOM for the flex kit product and it's related components

try creating a sales order for that parent product and try changing the components
