Automatic Journals: Post Revenue to 2 Different Accounts based on Country

SOLVED

X3 PU 9.0.5

I've been asked to figure out a way to post revenue into two different accounts, one for USA customers and one for everyone else. I'd like to avoid changing a lot of automatic journals.  What are some alternative that I can experiment with?

You can do this using the customer setup.

Load up a non-US customer record, and go to the accounting code, create a copy of the record and change the Revenue line to be the non-US account.

Create the changed accounting code record, when you go back to the customer the new accounting code should have populated.

To make this easier make a new Customer Category and change the accounting code to your new non-US revenue account and then all customers created with that new customer category will get the updated accounting code, you will still have to change all the non-US customers that use the normal accounting code.

    Hope that helps

This was a terrific launching point and took care of the AR/AP needs, but we did end up needing to change some automatic journals for the way we need to split out sales revenue. Thank you!
