Sage X3 Support Changes Coming in 2017

1 minute read time.

Sage remains committed to providing you with world class support for our flagship product, Sage X3. To that end, we want to remind you about support changes that will affect some older releases.

Sage Support typically provides full support and maintenance for the current and one prior release of Sage X3 only. However, we have been providing support and maintenance for versions all the way back to version 6.x for some time. In February 2016, we announced our Lifetime support policy with a 3 Phase approach. In order to allow us to focus firmly on what lies ahead for Sage X3 and release product updates and feature enhancements more frequently, we intend to move to Phase 2 support and discontinue Phase 1 support for versions 6.x, 7.x, and product update 8.x in January of 2017.

Customers working with these products will retain access to Sage Support, the knowledgebase, and, if on version 7 or higher, updates to the online help documentation. You will also have access to all currently available patches and hot fixes for your version.

What you need to know is that on Phase 2 support, no further new patches or hot fixes will be developed for these versions and product updates, except for items that are required for legal and fiscal compliance. We will provide hot fixes only for those items that we consider Severity Level 1, which are business critical, such as system failures or the failure of a mission critical business process within the system.

For those of you on older versions, this would be a great time to consider looking at our latest releases, as they contain many new and improved features, as well as enhancements. If you are interested, please click this link and you will be directed to more information about our current offerings.
