Sage 300 CRE will not load after a fresh install?

Good evening

I am currently have some issues getting the program to launch successfully. I have contacted sage and they had no clue what the issues was.

After launching the TS main Icon it will go into the splash screen and drops off the map no process are visible or anything. I am using version 14.01 with the update 14.0.3. Checked in the event Viewer no errors. Nothing its like the application was not even executed. If there is any other information needed please let me know! Any information will help at this point.

    Elbert,

Is this happening on an accounting server installation or a client installation? Also what happens when you run Sage Desktop. Sometimes it will generate an error when TS-Main will not.

    Thanks,

    David

This is happening on a client installation in a domain environment. Not sure about sage desktop never ran it? is this a feature inside of the application?

Just ran the Sage desktop and it will come up for a split second and then disappear.

Its a separate application located under the start menu. Start>Programs>Sage>Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate>Desktop.

On a client when you are first opening the software there are a few things that happen. it is using the pervasive database engine to access the security files located on the Timberline Office share which usually results in the login prompt.

What you may check is that the user you are logged in as has full control to the Timberline Office share, or try logging in to the machine as a domain admin to test.

Additionally there may be issues with the workstations pervasive engines communication. You can run the Pervasive System Analyzer and put in the servers name to test connectivity when it asks for a host name (Start>Programs>Pervasive>Utilities>Pervasive System Analyzer)

Other then that their may be items on the machine such as the Windows UAC, Firewall, AV etc that can interfere. You can use msconfig to put the system in selective startup to test as well as disabling AV and the UAC.

Also thought of one other thing. You will want to check that you can ping the server from the workstation and that it resolves to the valid IP address and that it is an IPv4 address and not an IPv6.

If none of these work for you free free to email me your contact info to david.khashoATsage.com and I will be happy to work with you on this. I am in the office from 6AM to 3PM PST.

Thanks for all the info man. First off I tried to launch desktop and it only comes up for a second.

I am logged in as a domain user with administrative access. Ran the system analyzer all systems checked out fine no issues. UAC off, Firewall off, avg off. I talked to a support agent that helped me trouble shoot the issues and we even looked and tried to close open process to see if something was blocking the exe. We even renamed the registry key to .old so it could make a new entry. Still nothing.

If they tried everything even a reinstall, what you might do is do an accounting server installation on that workstation and see if it opens. That will eliminate anything on the network and isolate just that machine and may give you a better clue. Again if you need any help just shoot me an email to david.khashoATsage.com and I can give you a call tomorrow.

The same thing is happening to me. I've checked the Windows Installer service to make sure its running, which it wasn't, so I started it up. Ran Windows updates in case the pending updates were interfering. I talked through this update with Sage support before doing it and they made it sound so simple. Update the server then run the patch, then update the workstations. I can't get past trying to update the server software from SageCRE300 version 13.1 to 14.1. The install just won't run at all. The install file is sitting on the desktop and whether I right click and run as administrator or just double click to run, it's the same result. I am going to contact support on Monday but a resolution to this would be great.

They also run SageFA and this upgrade is doing the same thing on the server. Any resolve to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
