    Hi Juan,

    Great question!

Equipment Cost is designed to track revenue earned from use of equipment on jobs as well as cost of maintenance and repair on equipment you own.

If you are charging payroll time to a job, the costs are reflected on the job. If you are not charging the payroll to a job, then you can charge it to the equipment.

You have the option of setting up Equipment Cost Cost Codes as Memo Costs, which is like saying “The job paid for this repair on a piece of equipment, so we want to show that equipment as costing money, even if we didn’t pay for it.”

More information on Memo Costs can be found in the knowledgebase at http://support.na.sage.com by searching 17747.

    I hope this helps!
